Udupi Chitranna Recipe
Ingredients For Udupi Chitranna Recipe
for masala paste:
- ½ cup coconut grated
- ½ tsp mustard
- 2 dried Kashmiri red chili
- ¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp mustard
- ½ tsp urad dal
- 1 dried Kashmiri red chilli
- few curry leaves
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 2 tbsp tamarind extract
- ½ tsp jaggery
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 cup cooked rice
Procedure For Udupi Chitranna Recipe
Firstly in a blender take ½ cup coconut, ½ tsp mustard, 2 dried Kashmiri red chili and ¼ tsp turmeric.
Blend to a coarse paste without adding any water.
Now heat kadai with 1 tbsp of coconut oil.
Add 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp urad dal, 1 dried red chili, few curry leaves and 2 tbsp peanuts.
Saute and splutter on medium flame.
Further, add 2 tbsp tamarind extract, ½ tsp jaggery, and ½ tsp salt. cook well.
Now add the prepared masala paste and saute for 2 minutes
Further, add 3 cups cooked rice and mix gently.
Finally, serve Udupi Chitranna / masala Chitranna hot or pack to your lunch box.
